“I remember so clearly the day of this dress fitting back in 1992. I put this dress in its original longer version on Carla Bruni and immediately realized something wasn’t quite right. It was too long. @CarlyneCerfdeDudzeele had stopped by the studio and was sitting in on some of the fittings. I looked over to her and said, “I think this dress should be a lot shorter for Carla.” I grabbed a pair of giant scissors and gestured in a cutting motion, “do you think this short..? This short..? THIS short?”
Carlyne shouted back, “just cut the dress!” So with my giant pair of scissors I roughly cut the dress into a mini dress that was so short it almost become a top.
