In 1970, artist #GiuseppePenone created a performative series of self-portrait photographs titled “Rovesciare i propri occhi (Reversing One's Eyes),” in which he wore mirrored contact lenses. These works hid his gaze while reflecting his surroundings, allowing him to show the natural world around him in an objective manner. Join us on November 9 at 6:00 p.m. for an “In the Artist’s Voice” public conversation in which Penone will discuss the poetic relationship between artistic process and nature.
