Easy breakfast of what feels like Sunday morning, though it's not. We're in the middle of a long weekend here. I had completely forgotten about this holiday approaching, so I welcomed a tad of slowness for a couple of days, especially before the hectic week that's about to come. So I made this big bowl of porridge with grated apples (this is you @emikodavies), with a generous knob of butter and listened to the quiet grey morning, interrupted with occasional church bells. You don't really notice them after years of living in Rome.
So although I had plans and a long to do list, I decided to take the day off to spend it visiting a huge exhibition celebrating 30 years of @Disney Pixar. Inspired by @eleonorabaldwin , who invited us to be tourists in own cities every once in a while. This is searching for inspiration out of the usual circle. A date with myself. I have promised myself to engage in something inspiring for my own pure pleasure (no work or research), and to do it alone. To let go, and just be there, living the experience.
Also, fun fact, when I was a young teenager my biggest dream was to become a Disney animator one day! I took many drawing lessons and I could draw you a perfect Pocohontas or Simba with few swishes of a pencil. I was OBSESSED about the correct form and colors, and I spent HOURS working on the same image, getting all the write light and shadows with color pencils. This is what eventually led me to art school at the end of high school, and the rest is history. It's not a dream I let go of, I just eventually grew out of it.
