By the time October 31 rolls around each year, the @vaquera.nyc designers feel a little depleted. @data_dawg, @missclairesullivan, and #BrynTaubensee are not only churning out their crafty, ironic collections each season, but they’re also working second jobs and trying to build up their ready-to-wear business. But despite their fatigue, the Vaquera designers were struck suddenly with a spontaneous spark of creativity a week and a half ago, which resulted in three one-off, hilarious costumes. Sullivan took her inspiration from an old Sex and the City episode, in which a former party girl turned suburban housewife invites the girls to her baby shower and wears a giant bonnet covered in gift bows and ribbons.
