10 years ago on my 19th birthday, I had just won the Olympics and got asked a very daunting question: “where do you see yourself in 10 years?” unsure what to say or how to even begin to reply I start thinking a lot where I would to be in 10 years... Would I be a married? Would I be a mom? Where would I be living? What would I be doing? Today, 10 years later, I may not be exactly where I thought I would be personally, but those aren’t the things that are most important.... but what is important is happiness. And for the first time in my life, I may not know what the future holds, but what I do know is that I am happy. I have an amazing family, incredible friends, a career I’m passionate about and that’s what matters most. The unknown can be scary or it can be exciting. Live each day with excitement, rather than fear. Live your life on your own timeline, not the timeline society thinks is right. •
