Did you know that while most true foxes are not pack animals, there is one species of fox that exhibits cooperative behavior with other members of its species? It is called the Corsac fox. This fox is found in the desert like areas around Mongolia and China. It is very well adapted to these dry conditions not needing to drink water for quite some time. The Corsac fox has social behaviors not seen in other foxes. When the females have their kits, several males with help take care of them. They have also been seen forming small hunting packs to help provide for the group. So let’s hear it for the Corsac fox, the fox that shows it takes a village !
