Here’s my message to the people sending our leaders and public figures bombs in the mail — and all those sending me and other activists hate mail and death threats.

You think you can scare us with your bombs.
.
We will not be scared.
.
You think you can intimidate us into silence.
.
We will not be silenced.
.
You think you can make us hate you.
.
We refuse to hate you,
.
because we refuse to become you.
.
Only people in a lot of pain want to 
hate others, hurt others.
.
You think we are the Resistance.
.
We are not the resistance.
.
It is you who are resisting the rising tide of equality, freedom, and justice that has flowed through the centuries and is surging now
.
To remake this nation:
.
multiracial, multicultural, multi-faith where women and people of color and queer and trans people not only survive but thrive.
.
A new America is longing to be born,
.
There is a place for you in it.
.
You just have to let go of the illusion that America was ever just yours to begin with.
.
In the meantime, no matter what you do,
.
We are going to labor in love anyway,
.
Love for each other, love even for you.
.
And we're going to take this love to the polls on November 6th.
