For Resort '19, we showed our collection at the old Bullocks Wilshire Department Store. Designed in 1929 by renowned Los Angeles architects John and Donald Parkinson, the Bullocks Wilshire Building operated as a luxury department store for more than 60 years. Helen Gurley Brown worked here as a secretary, and Angela Lansbury was a salesclerk. Katherine Hepburn bought her shoes in the men’s department here and Marlene Dietrich bought her trousers there too. Marlene was also known to drive up late on Saturday afternoon and load her car with store employees to take to her Malibu house for the weekend. ??
