In 1949, GE designed the first gas turbine inspired by jet engines. In 2016, the HA turbine became the world’s largest and most efficient gas turbine. At the time, the HA reached a record-breaking 62.22% efficiency, allowing the plant to generate enough power for some 680,000 homes. Now, the HA’s efficiency is nearing 64% thanks to advanced manufacturing.
