This cute little framed ornament is a present my friend gave me 18 yrs ago when I'd moved from Tokyo to LA. I wonder if she remembers me and the fact that she'd made this for me back then.
18 years in my room.
Aware or unaware, I think I've always been more of a receiver than a giver. And in a way I believe that that's the way it should be, because people give while they aren't aware, somewhere in the process of just living their lives. On the other hand as long as you're thankful, you can see and feel that you receive at all times. Just like you, just like me.
Or maybe I'm just a little drunk.

これは9歳の時、アメリカに引っ越すことになった私に友達がプレゼントしてくれたもの。もう18年も前か。
その子とはそれから一度も会ってないし、連絡もとってない。けど何回引っ越してもこれは必ず飾ってる。私のこと、覚えてるかな？
片方が忘れていても、もう片方が覚えてればその想いってそこにあって、逆も然りで、そう思うと世の中形じゃないし必ずしもgive and take とかそういうんでもないよなぁって思うよね。
takeっていうのは、自分が与えてるよりも確実に多く、知らない間にもらってるものだよね
