It’s so interesting how we lose touch with ourselves - it starts by wanting to please others : our parents, our friends, our followers or whatever we imagine society demands of us - and slowly we lose the sense of play.

Recently I have shared my mental health journey and understood through the feedback I got how much it is sort of everyone’s problem too. So I want to try to share a little more about my journey here. .
And I want to start with play.

As you know I am an illustrator and an artist’s journey is a quite beautiful but complicated one. And it’s fine! What’s not fine is when the demands we put on ourselves end up stifling our sense of play. I haven’t taken the time to lose time creating and making stuff just for me for years. Making “ugly” or “weird” stuff is as important as making pretty stuff - if we only try to do what we know, the source dries up and we end up just copying ourselves and losing the juice.

Lately, I’ve started making time again to have fun with shapes and color. It would be nothing for child to play and have fun and not give a damn - but it’s a huge step for me. So, here you go, here is a blue clementine. Happy Sunday!
