JAIMI ~ Working so intimately with women, I know how deep and common the shame, pain, and powerlessness felt from sexual victimization is. The #metoo movement has brought a lot of relief and healing, we've been able to connect and unite in our painful stories as well as take a huge burden of shame off. We can see our repression and abuse as a whole now which is huge. But it’s far from enough, we're still so far as last week showed us. I want to use our collective horror and rage at seeing the pervasive sexual violence and society’s current protection of it to fuel change. I support @rainn, an amazing organization that provides support services to rape, abuse, and incest survivors as well as provides public education about sexual violence and advocates to improve public policy. I also think we need to show our men and boys a different way and @acalltomen does great work to show them how to embrace a healthy, respectful manhood that doesn’t include violence and discrimination.
