What do you think about this write up from @stringtownanimal for Chicken the cat's "Special Day" when she was taken in to get spayed and her toe bones and claws sliced off? ??
”I had cute little bandages on my paws to help them heal.” ??
According to an employee at this hospital, all their vets do several declaws each week. #LastResort ?
This hospital says, "We do offer declaw surgeries in order to prevent destructive cats from being turned outside or euthanized."
What about all the declawed cats that are thrown away and sitting in rescues/shelters in their area and this country because of their behavioral issues from their declaws? Declawing does NOT keep a cat in a home or prevent it from being euthanized!
How about educating cat owners about the FACTS about declawing and how it is inhumane and always harmful to the long term health and well-being of a cat instead of convincing them that this barbaric amputation procedure is the best option?
How about counseling cat owners about the easy, humane options like sturdy scratching posts, nail trims, deterrents, Soft Paws, etc?

My mom is using her own money to pay for the care for Chicken since the cat owner can't afford to. ?We can't do all this without your support. Chicken is on her way to Rascal Animal Hospital, a no-declaw vet practice, right now to get a recheck since she is still limping, standing up with her back paws in the air, not moving around much, and suffering from her declaw that was done in June.
