Kicked off a new year of my RESPECT program in Portland yesterday with an assembly at Madison High. I’m adding Madison to the program with returning schools Parkrose and Roosevelt High.
The RESPECT program challenges students at these 3 schools to:
Show Up – Arriving on time each day ready to engage and learn shows respect for your family and teachers.
Work Hard – Working hard and doing your best shows respect for yourself and your future.
Be Kind – Being kind, showing respect and valuing the differences in others.
Throughout the year, teachers and counselors at these schools are empowered to reward students who have embodied the principles of RESPECT with tickets to our games, some of my adidas merchandise and other special giveaways.
