来日の際にも、集まった日本の学生たちに「僕はバスケを30年やっているけれど、全部のシュートが入るわけじゃない。入らない事は全く問題ではない。大事なのは、入るまで打ち続ける事！」と、熱心にシュートの指導をしていた映像がとても印象的でした。この様なNBA選手たちの活動は、子供達にとってバスケだけでなく人生の力にも繋がるものだと、とても温かい気持ちになりました☺️?
During the NBA Finals, I interviewed @ステフィン・カリー at the NBA Cares event in Oakland. There was only time for four questions in the huge scrum, but I was able to ask him what it means to be able to interact with and be a role model for children around the globe both on and off the court.
When he recently visited a school in Japan, he said to a young student who was struggling to make a free throw- “I’ve been playing for 30 years and I don’t make every shot I take, so there’s nothing to worry about. You’re gonna shoot till you make one.” It warmed my heart knowing that these strong words will always remind them to keep striving for success not just in basketball but in everyday life as well.✨
