Flashback Friday 1991. Spending a week with H.R. Giger at his home in Zurich Switzerland. His home was decorated with the set pieces for the movie Dune, that he did design for before the studio killed it because of budget. I still remember being so blown away by the detail in his airbrush work. Even with its large size canvas it is almost impossible to see the multi layers of details. You will defiantly will never see it in pictures. Had so many great conversations with him that week. He definitely was an original. He even gave myself and Rob Z. a book of original sketches(prized possession for me). I think about him almost every day for the last 27 years. I keep waiting for his work and inspiration to come bubbling up in my own work. I guess just waiting for the right time. #jessejames
