Simone Leigh (@simoneyvetteleigh), a Hugo Boss Prize 2018 nominee, works in sculpture, video, and socially engaged performance and programming. Leigh’s oeuvre extends from her research in the fields of eth­nography, political history, feminism, and folklore. The artist's social-practice projects place black female subjectivity at their center, with a focus on notions of community, heal­ing, and self-care.
