I photographed this event in March in New York City for my story on South Asian Americans. Last Thursday, September 6th, the Indian Supreme Court struck down a colonial-era ban on gay sex and ruled that gay Indians should have all the protections of the constitution. “History owes an apology to members of the community for the delay in ensuring their rights,” Justice Indu Malhotra said.
