The late 20th century was a transformational period for graphic design, especially in California. Frances Butler, a designer who worked in the Bay Area, co-founded Poltroon Press. This image was used as the cover for a portfolio of women's poetry published @stanford. See it in person in “West of Modernism: California Graphic Design, 1975-1995” opening September 30. ⠀
