昨夜仙台89ersの歴史上初めて東北アーリーカップで優勝した。東北チャンピオンB1チームの秋田を何とか下しこのアーリーカップ決勝戦で優勝した2番目のB2チームだ。

実際秋田は昨シーズンB2チームとして初めて優勝したチームなのだ。
.
数か月前新しいオーナーが引き継いだ時から誰もが勝つ見込みはないと思っていた。
.
昔からの大手スポーンサーが降り、リーグで最下位の予算しかなかった。負け続けるチームに入りたい選手もいなかった。
.
仙台のプロバスケットボールを変えることが出来ると思った我々は無知でナイーブだと陰でささやく声が聞こえた。私の会計士や銀行家は私のこのチーム買収に懐疑的で決心を変えさせようとした。
.
しかし成功をもたらすのは人生で向き合うすべての苦難と逆境なのだ。
.
それが多ければ多いほど良い。
.
成功を味わったことがないため、このチームのどこにも膨らんだエゴはない。
.
だから一人一人が勝利にエネルギーを集中することができた。
.
誰もがアクションを取る度に生きるか死ぬかの戦いだと知っていた。
.
チケット販売から商品製造、スポンサー募集、毎試合、デフレクション、ダイブ、パス、ブロック、すべての面で勝つために戦った。
.
技術、予算、才能などでは劣っているかも知れないが、努力では決して負けない。
.
秋田は良いチームで良い試合をした。学ぶべき素晴らしいチームだ。?

Last night we won the Tohoku Early Cup for the first time in the history of the Sendai 89ers.
.
We also were the second B2 team to win an Early Cup Championship, barely beating a B1 team and long reigning Tohoku Champions Akita.
.
Akita in fact were the first to win the Cup as a B2 team last season.
.
From the time our new team took ownership, several months ago, no one believed we could make a winning team.
.
Long time, big sponsors dropped out, leaving us with one of the lowest budgets in the league.
.
Players didn’t want to come down to join a team with a losing history.
.
We heard the whispers behind our backs saying we were ignorant and naive to think we could make changes to professional basketball in Sendai.
.
My accountants and bankers questioning and pressuring my decision to buy the team.
.
The fact is all of the tough shit we face in our lives, the adversity is what creates success.
.
The more of it the better.
.
Because we haven’t ever tasted success, we have no inflated egos anywhere in our organization.
.
This allows every one of us to focus our energy on winning.
.
The fact is we know we have a life and death fight with every action we take.
.
Selling tickets, making products, selling sponsorships, every play, deflection, dive, pass and blocked shot, we fight with every thing we have to win.
.
You may beat us on skill, budget, talent but you will not beat our grind.
