Dear Poppy, you will be dearly missed but always remembered. This is a photo of my wife Crissy’s grandfather as a young man. He passed away the day before yesterday at the mighty age of 93 and despite his long innings, we are all feeling a massive loss without him. Our son Jack was lucky enough to have the honor of receiving his name. We will all miss his great grandfather very much, moments like eating vanilla ice cream, playing cards and family game night with him. Poppy was the first Chinese baby born in the state of Alabama and built an extremely successful laundry business across the Southern States of America, his legacy is of course his family who are truly the most beautiful people inside and out you will ever be lucky enough to meet. I featured this photo in my first book titled Beauty Equation, in the chapter called “Charm”, here’s an excerpt - “My wife’s grandfather is perhaps the most charming man I have ever met. He’s debonair and modest, yet successful and rich in life. He has an ability to laugh and smile in difficult situations - and he has kind eyes. I mention this because I imagine we all know someone who has kind eyes. They look upon all with care and approval, urging you onward and upward. It’s not good enough to be saying the right thing and thinking the opposite, because the chances are your eyes will give you away and you’ll come off insincere - or worse tedious” Jack “Poppy” Chin was anything but tedious.
