The trekking trail of Mt. Mashu, or Kamuinupuri, which means "God's Mountain" in the Ainu language, starts from Mashu Viewpoint 1. From the trail that goes along the ridge of the caldera, you can see how Lake Mashu's beautiful appearance changes continuously as you go. While enjoying the scenery of Konsen Plateau spreading before your eyes, you can take a one way trip of 2.5 hours to the summit. The color of Mashu blue viewed from there is especially exceptional.
