This week marks one year since hundreds of thousands of Rohingya people started fleeing their homes in Myanmar . After a year of taking data and hearing their stories the UN can now officially call the situation what it is “Genocide”. When I visited Kutupalong Camp in Bangladesh I met these people and heard of the horrific things they had been put through. One young girl told us of her experience being kidnapped and repeatedly raped and tortured . She was 15 years old.These stories keep me up at night. While we go about our lives , people around the world are on the edge of life and death. I’m so proud to be a part of @refugees , because if #unhcr wasn’t there for the 1 million Rohingya people, if the @unitednations wasn’t fighting for their rights- who would be?????
