The most frustrating thing about living with bipolar is you get to feel what it feels like to feel amazing, even if some of those moments look cringe worthy looking back. But then you hit the other end and it feels like you will never feel joy again and it’s a downward spiral from there. For the past several months I’ve been full of doubt and self hatred but I’ve had a bit of a breakthrough today in my perspective, getting out of the house and talking to people will do that. Thanks to all the great friends I talked to today, you are appreciated. One of the things I’m grateful for lately is making the time to read about things I’m interested in, which has mainly been philosophy and design. I often am lured in by nuggets of #sartre so I’ve been diving into some his works and this 2 part image was inspired by something I read by him, not sure if it’s an exact quote but I love the idea that I’m just a character in my own play and that I’m not really what I am because that’s still moldable/changeable and that it’s really that I am what I’m not. I’ve had plenty of opportunities to be things which my soul tells me is not who I am and I’ve listened to that voice! Sometimes I’ve felt guilty about those decisions and beat myself up over it afterwards but in the end I’d rather be able to say I stayed true to who I was, flaws and all, then try to hide myself in what I think is expected of me. ✌️❤️☯️
