A herd of African #elephants walking across the #elephanusiousRiver in kruger national park. Elephants are estimated to have been roaming the earth for the last 55 million years. It’s hard to imagine that ivory poaching, a senseless and ridiculous illegal market, has reduced their numbers drastically over recent decades to the point where their conservation status is now listed as “vulnerable”. The only way this will ever improve is through an international education that ivory holds no medicinal purpose whatsoever. Seeing them in the wild is incredibly powerful, I hope that generations to come will have this same privilege.
