It's almost back to school time!! A staggering 2.5 million children are now homeless each year in the United States-- one in five of these children live in California. Today, hundreds of volunteers work one-on-one with children whose homelessness prevents them from getting the academic stability and help they desperately need. Founded in 1993 by retired school teacher Agnes Stevens, School on Wheels, Inc is the only non profit organization in Southern California dedicated exclusively to the educational needs of this fragile population.
