Happy Monday from the seven cheetah cubs born this month at @スミソニアン国立動物園's Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute.?The cubs were born to first-time parents Erin and Rico, and all are doing well.
Two of the cubs’ grandparents also live at SCBI, making them the third generation to live there, which is good news for the cheetah population worldwide.
Cheetahs are described as “vulnerable” in the wild, with about 7,000 living in very fragmented habitats. SCBI is building a healthy and genetically diverse population of cheetahs in human care. #WeSaveSpecies
