Meet Ella, Bella, Phoebe, Bianca, Dandy, Emma and Victoria (@thelavaempire), a guinea pig gang with a special skill for playing “floor is lava.” “They are pampered pigs and prefer the cushioned rug to the hardwood floors,” say Katherine and Zvi, their humans. “So they often endeavor to avoid it.”
As their guinea pig herd grew, Katherine and Zvi decided to open their New York home to their animals. “In educating ourselves on proper guinea pig care, we found they require a fair amount of space and often enjoy roaming floor time to explore and run around. They mostly stay in their designated area, and only exit for brief walks and to come see us — and they’re noticeably happier when their area is larger.”
