Parker Posey’s memoir, “You’re on an Airplane,” comes out later this month. The 49-year-old-actress spoke with @nytmag about the book. Its conceit: the reader is seated next to @itsparkerposey on a plane. The chapters are broken up with passages about hobbies like ceramics and yoga. “Are you worried that strangers are going to start talking to you on planes?” the @nytmag writer @molly_lambert asked her. “I hope they do!” said #ParkerPosey, who was photographed here by @celestesloman. The book is about her untraditional life. “I had $1.75 in my bank account at one point,” she said. “I was doing all these things in the movies, and it wasn’t paying a lot, yet I was able to do them in the ’90s. … For me just to be able to be free enough to do what I felt that I was called to do — I realized how special that was and how lucky I was.” The book includes a quote from her mentor, Nora Ephron: “You’ll always feel the same, you’ll just keep getting older.” “Especially in your teens and your 20s, you think, Someday I’ll blossom into this woman instead of this woman-child,” @itsparkerposey said. “But I think that’s also just being an artist. That’s what that is. It’s just being different. And that’s OK.”
