Last night, I stood still under this sky to feel the desert air.
My work doesn’t allow me to truly experience the places I inhabit.
So I wanted to be sure that I felt the push of hot, dry evening air and the way it moved my skirt around my ankles, because soon we’ll be leaving, and I don’t know when I’ll be back in this place that I’ve loved for so long.

I just wanted to feel it.
