PLEASE READ: hey fellow dog parents, it’s summer here and that means bee ? stings! Even though I know it’s common, I’ve never had a dog get stung until today. Butters and I went out to play, came back inside and ten minutes later his white eye was swollen SHUT! It was super pink and I FREAKED out. Literally on the phone ? with the vet, FaceTimeing my mom (who is a nurse ?‍⚕️). You can see his swollen little eye here. Luckily he’s ok because I acted fast but bee stings can be SUPER dangerous for smoosh face dogs. So here’s what I learned and what you need to know in case this happens to your puppy ? : (1) give them Benadryl immediately! (2) alternate hot compresses and ice packs to get that swelling down ⬇️ (3) monitor them carefully because dogs can have delayed anaphylactic reactions (4) if your dog vomits ? it has any change in breathing get them to a veterinarian ASAP.
