For the GE Catalyst, less is more. This one-of-a-kind turboprop engine has more than a third of its parts 3D-printed from advanced alloys, which allowed our engineers to combine what used to be 855 parts into just 12. The result is an engine over 100 pounds lighter in weight and as much as 20% more fuel-efficient. Here’s a look at the GE Catalyst in testing.
