#Subaru just misses podium at DirtFish ARX of COTA

The #ARX made its American-soil debut on Saturday at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas. Subaru entered rallycross regulars Chris Atkinson (@chrisatko) and Patrik Sandell (@patriksandell) with the third team Subaru WRX STI being driven by Travis Pastrana (@travispastrana), who last raced in rallycross in 2015 for the team.

The three Subaru entries had a solid showing throughout the event with all three drivers advancing to the hotly-contested 6-car Final.
Atkinson endured a tire puncture from race contact during the opening lap scrum and was forced to limp through the race to 6th. Sandell and Pastrana however were in contention for a podium but came up just short, with Pastrana finishing 4th and Sandell 5th.

“It was an exciting event, overall the cars ran well and we have a few developments in the cards heading into the next rounds so we are looking forward from here,” explained Sandell. “There isn’t much at all between the top six cars now, we are all so close.”
“4th is better than I expected after I’ve been out of rallycross for so long and had very limited time to test the new Subaru,” said Pastrana. “It was blast, and a great warmup for when I race again at the Nitro World Games rallycross in September!”

The next ARX around is Aug 4-5 at the FIA World Rallycross Championship of Canada, held at GP3R in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada.
