“Scotland” - in the long pursuit of music, I remember working at a coffee shop, deli and restaurant to make the ends meet. The song was born out of this feeling that the world, the people around you, will often just not understand you “You could never feel my story, it’s all you know”. It became a rally cry to try to persevere - “I will not fold, she’s in control”. The song also was special to us because it had this beautiful driving rhythm that Jer played that reminded us of battle drums, like something out of Braveheart - hence the strange name - Scotland. -Wes “Scotland” was written in 2006 but it didn’t make LPs 1 or 2 - though occasionally we worked it into the live set. We also licensed the song to @The CW for a show that ran for four years called @cw_reign. “Scotland” is now available on all streaming services.
