This week is the world premiere of William Kentridge’s major new work The Head & the Load in Tate Modern's #TurbineHall. Tate joined forces with @1418now, the UK’s arts programme for the #WWI centenary, to commemorate the significant contribution of African men and women in this conflict. Kentridge’s work tells the untold story of the hundreds of thousands of African porters and carriers who served in British, French and German forces.
