Over 2,000 tiaras have been made since 1780, and were first brought back into fashion by Empress Joséphine, muse of the Maison. The art of the tiara requires a special technique: the creation of a volume model called a maillechort, used to adjust the design to the shape of the head and how it is meant to be worn.
