Foxes are part of the of Canid family, but share a lot of similarities with felines. Fox, like these two red fox kits here, have vertically oriented pupils, which help them hunt in low light. Unlike many other canine species who are endurance style hunters, fox hunt more like cats, where they use stealth to stalk their prey. Most fox also have semi-retractable claws, which most other canines don't possess. These are some of the reasons I love watching fox so much. They're not only full of personality, but they share a lot of traits with both dogs and cats that make them appear like they're a link between the two. Just for the record, they really are not the link between the two, you'd have to go back roughly 42 million years to find that animal!
