#TBT to our #LiveMonumental campaign. We took our refurbished 1976 yellow GMC RV on a nine week tour across the country, seeing 28 states and traveling 7,500 miles! The goal of our campaign was to bring awareness to five American landscapes totaling 3 million acres in Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho and West Virginia, and support permanent protections for these incredible places. The movement gathered 30,000 signatures and reached 22 meetings with Members of Congress, Chiefs of Staff, conservation experts, and many more movers and shakers on Capitol Hill. In the end President Obama designated Mojave Trails, and Gold Butte as National Monuments and signed a bill designating the Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness.
