The @eamesoffice first experimented with aluminum for table and chair bases, and even tried to stamp chair shells out of aluminum sheets for MoMA's International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design in 1948. A decade later, Charles and Ray conquered the material to create the Eames Aluminum Group. The chairs and tables have been produced in America—specifically West Michigan—since their introduction in 1958. #tbt
