For Natalia Ospina, 26, exploring Colorado’s mountains with fellow Latinas has been a healing and transformative experience. Ospina, whose family arrived in the U.S. from Colombia in 1996, is one of 11 Denver-area women who volunteer with @latinooutdoors, a national organization that connects the Latino community with nature. She and her crew are just some of the extraordinary women who TIME will visit on a cross-country road trip this summer. We'll meet them where they gather to find strength and inspiration: on mountain tops, under palm trees, walking big city streets. We'll learn what keeps them up at night, how they express their truest selves and why their chosen “sisters” are their greatest allies.
