Thank you for bringing light and inspiration to our world, @honnoldfoundation @アレックス・オノルド ・・・
Darkness is a funny thing. It’s easy to forget how much time we spend in defiance of the dark— with lightbulbs, headlamps, car headlights, the little flashlight on the backs of our phones… for most of us, nighttime just isn’t an obstacle. We press a button, and create a little pool of daylight wherever we need it.

But for people all over the world, light is harder to come by. If you rely on biofuels (like wood, or animal droppings) to make fires, every moment of light and heat is a moment you worked hard for— walking long distances, sometimes through dangerous and distant places, to collect the fuel you need each night. And as you and your neighbors collect more and more fuel, you have to walk just a little further each day.

At the Honnold Foundation, we believe that light shouldn't be a luxury.
