I have always been interested in symbolism from a young age. This one in particular. I have NEVER liked snakes and the image of one eating itself didn’t assist in bringing about a new perspective.
While reading about Ouroboros I was struck by the sentence above probably because of the words “assimilation”
and “integration” as it relates to the Supreme Court ruling upholding Trump’s Muslim Ban today.
I hope when it comes to people I continue to stay in the practice of looking for the similarities in others rather than the differences. Highlighting and propagating the “Them from us” mentality will never bring us closer to ourselves or each other. Consequently,
We will only continue to feel the antithesis of whole. As individuals and a society.
How wonderful would it be if we all did the spiritual work to heal ourselves, accept our shadow AND light side and grew more connected to each other?
Am I just a lone naive romantic out there wanting more for humankind? - I don’t believe I am. ?
