#GagosianViewingRoom: Andy Warhol’s “Map of Eastern USSR Missile Bases (pos)” features in our first-ever Online Viewing Room, which offers work exclusively online for Art Basel 2018.

The artwork is part of a series Warhol began in 1985 called “Ads and Illustrations." It featured reproductions of print advertisements, religious texts, and newspaper excerpts. One of the larger works in the series, this painting provides a layman’s approximation of where one might find Soviet weapons in the former USSR and East Asia.
