This week’s record of the week is ‘The Sea and Cake - Any Day’ here is what our friend Nick Luscombe had to say about it: “It's always a good moment when a new album from Chicago's The Sea and Cake hits the deck...and this, Any Day, is their 11th LP since their first release in 1994 - and doesn't disappoint.
The band are drummer John McEntire, Archer Prewitt on guitar and singer Sam Prekop whose summery and melancholic voice still sounds as unique today as on the debut.
The songs are beautifully crafted and organic with a classic and intimate touch.
