One year ago today Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales opened worldwide. This picture is from the North American premiere at Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. The set piece behind me is from the movie and depicts the rock formation called Devil’s Triangle where the villainous Captain Salazar - played by Javier Bardem - is cursed to roam. I remember a couple of years before this picture was taken I was sitting at Chateau Marmont, just down the street, with production designer Nigel Phelps scribbling the design of it on a napkin. Standing there that day I felt the full circle of moviemaking ☠️ #potc5 #tb
