Today, for the first time, the Sistine Chapel Choir performed in a British Royal Palace, as they joined the Choir of Her Majesty's Chapel Royal for evensong at St James's Palace.

The Capella Musicale Pontifica (CMP), also known as the Sistine Chapel Choir, is The Pope's official choir & the oldest choir in the world still in existence. They have collaborated with choirs worldwide to establish and maintain a dialogue between Christian denominations, as well as to enable cultural collaboration across the globe.
The Chapel Royal Choir dates from the fifteenth century, when the singers would travel with the Sovereign to perform wherever they were resident at the time. The present Chapel building at St. James's Palace dates from circa 1540, and became the permanent base of the Choir in 1702.
