#HappyBirthday to the most important man and biggest inspiration in my life #ALMalnik. It was only 30 years ago when Al agreed to give me money for my first short film #TheGoodLife only if I took my Law School Entrance Exam. When he picked me up himself from the testing center, I was so nervous to tell him I didn’t do well and that I didn’t think I was going to end up becoming a lawyer! He was not only not disappointed but he encouraged me to follow my dreams and told me how proud he was of me for pursuing my passion. I felt fearless because of his love and support. It was so meaningful to me at that time that he believed in me enough to pay for my first film. He validated my talent and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed! My only regret is that I went 1000 percent over budget on a what was supposed to be a 10k short film. He pointed out that it could be a problem in the future on a bigger budget film but he continued to believe in me and has supported me ever since.
