Today is #NationalRescueDogDay! To celebrate, we wanted to share some pictures of Bear and Momo on the days we brought each of them home and talk about why adoption is important to us. ??

After Loki passed away, many of you were hoping we would get another Corgi (we still get comments about it to this day). We definitely considered it (we went so far as to placing a deposit on a puppy), but we were never sure if it would be the right choice. To be honest, we weren’t sure if we were ready to own another dog, let alone another Corgi.

We began looking into fostering with the mentality that we could help a dog in need while getting a feel for having a dog in our home again. We eventually adopted Bear and since then, have fostered 6 dogs (one of whom is Momo)!

Adopting Bear and Momo has given us a sense of fulfillment that buying a puppy wouldn’t have. Yes, it’s nice to have a puppy to raise, but we believe it’s even nicer to provide a home for a dog who wouldn’t have one otherwise (plus there are plenty of puppies out there who need rescuing)!

Every year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized in the US. By adopting, you are giving an animal a second chance at life and potentially saving another one from being euthanized. If you’ve been thinking about getting a pet, we would strongly recommend looking into adopting before buying. It worked out for us, and we certainly think it would work out for you too! :)
