Speaking at the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association this week was a HUGE deal for me. This industry has a heritage and roots that run so deep that as a female surfer with a disability, I was pretty intimidated...

My main objective: share the authentic joy and stoke I have gotten from learning how to surf waves and help the industry leaders see how that freedom can truly change the lives of people with disabilities. I spoke about the importance of inclusion, considering minority surfers in the branding and marketing and getting back to the truth: Aloha. Not surprisingly, the whole SIMA crew welcomed me with open arms and amazing energy!

I’m so thankful to Access Surf a non profit based in Oahu for understanding the life changing power of surfing and having a vision for its development, you helped me catch my first wave and that has made all the difference.
