I’m doing a freelance project centered around a development happening in #chinatown, which used to be #japantown, so tonight I went down to do some research to inform the final designs. I’d never spent much time looking at the Chinatown gate, which has only been there since the 80s, but there’s some really lovely details that I never noticed before. One of the not so lovely details that I didn’t find out until climbing up onto the stone lion was how filthy they are and that it apparently is possible to piss all the way up there. ? ?: @schuseanmacher
